From Edited Copy
We have established a reputation for intelligent interpretation and accurate reproduction of publishers’ edited copy. Our satellite structure enables us to deal with large volumes of data, speedily and efficiently without compromising the quality of the data.
From Publishers’ Files
Sophisticated conversion filters allow us to import all modern word processor and database information, including Word, InDesign and Quark files.
During conversion we strip out all extraneous codes which may have accumulated in the data supplied, leaving only the relevant codes converted by us. This is essential to avoid problems on future repurposing of the data.
We accept files translated from most European languages where the original typesetting codes have been retained, and convert these to our systems.
Illustrations
Line and half-tone illustrations can be supplied to us in any digital format, or scanned into our system at resolutions from 300–3000 d.p.i.
All graphics should be supplied with fonts embedded.
Once into the system, extensive facilities for image correction, enhancement, manipulation and labelling can be applied.
The illustrations are converted to TIFF or EPS files and linked to the text pages in our application systems for the production of complete pages with illustrations in position. By linking to, but not embedding them in the text file, the text can be repurposed without disturbing the illustrations. It also allows the latest version of the illustrations to be made available to the customer for other applications.
