Spartan offers eBooks in Mobi format (Kindle range), and ePub for most other dedicated reading devices including iPads and tablets. They are usually created from our own application files once the print version of the book has been produced, but scaled back to facilitate the intended reading devices.

We are confident that the quality of this product maximises the capabilities of the reading device being used.
We can produce eBooks from OCR-generated data, but only having proofread and corrected after scanning.

Our ePub files are consistent with the standards set by the International Digital Publishing Forum.

eBooks in PDF

With the recent introduction of tablets with 9- or 10-inch screens and high-quality screen resolutions, the requirement to re-flow text to suit smaller, limited reading devices may well become obsolete. These tablets can read print-ready B format-size PDFs and retain all the design features and reproduction quality inherent in the print version, including footnotes and map references, for example, appearing in the correct position on the page.
